Why I Started the Muslim Ski Club
Skiing wasn’t always something I saw myself doing. Like many, I grew up thinking it was an exclusive sport - one that didn’t feel accessible, let alone aligned with my lifestyle.
That all changed the first time I stood on top of a mountain, surrounded by nothing but snow-covered peaks and endless open skies. It was a moment of pure exhilaration, freedom, and reflection. But amidst the breathtaking views and adrenaline-filled descents, I also noticed something - there weren’t many people like me on the slopes.
That’s when the idea for the Muslim Ski Club was born.
A Community Built on Connection, Learning & Experience
The Muslim Ski Club isn’t just about skiing - it’s about creating a space where Muslims can experience the mountains without compromise. Whether its ensuring halal food is available, having designated prayer spaces, or offering a welcoming social environment and an alternative to the après-ski culture, our aim is to transform the skiing experience for everyone.
From absolute beginners to seasoned skiers, we are here to break perceived barriers, support progression, and redefine what it means to hit the slopes. We connect like-minded individuals, provide tailored learning opportunities, and create experiences that align with our values - because adventure and faith should never be at odds.
The Vision for the Future
What started as an idea has now grown into a movement. We’ve introduced many new skiers to the sport, hosted an incredible ski trip, and built a community of passionate individuals who share a love for the mountains. But this is just the beginning.
The future of the club is about expansion and impact - from more training opportunities and ski holidays to forming a pathway for aspiring Muslim athletes. We want to see more Muslim skiers carving their way through powder and a global community that thrives on adventure, connection, and shared experiences.
