Membership Policy

1. Introduction

The Muslim Ski Club (MSC) is dedicated to fostering a faith-conscious and welcoming environment for Muslim ski and snowboard enthusiasts. Our membership policy ensures a positive experience for all members by ensuring members adhere to the values of the club. By becoming a member or taking part in any club organised activities as a guest, you agree to abide by the terms set out in this policy, as well as any other relevant club policies, including our Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use. Services may be provided by either Muslim Ski Club Ltd or Ski Club CIC. In any case, the below membership policy will remain in effect.  


Additional policies

Some services will require you to agree to additional policies, such as travel terms and conditions. This policy will remain in affect alongside any other terms and conditions for each of those services.


📌 2. Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

Age Requirement

Members must be 18 years or older. Minors (under 18) may participate in some club activities under parental or guardian supervision, with explicit consent and adherence to the club’s safeguarding policies. 


Interest in Snowsports 

Members should have an interest in skiing, snowboarding, or winter sports and align with the club’s mission to make Snowsports more accessible for Muslims. 


Code of Conduct 

Members must adhere to Islamic values, respect fellow members, and comply with all club policies to maintain a positive and welcoming community. 


 

📝 3. Application & Registration

Application

To apply for membership, individuals must

  • Complete the online registration form via the club’s website. 
  • Provide any necessary documentation (e.g., proof of age, student ID for student discounts). 
  • Agree to the club’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Community Guidelines. 


Review & Processing

  • Applications are reviewed monthly, with decisions communicated within 28 days.


By applying for membership, you consent to your details being used in line with the club’s Privacy Policy, including for account activity, event communications, and community discussions. 


 

 🧾 4. Categories & Benefits

MSC offers several membership tiers, each providing unique benefits:

Explorer (Free Tier - £0/year)

Designed for individuals new to skiing or snowboarding who want to explore the club before committing to full membership. Access limited events, digital resources, and select community spaces. 


First Season Pass (Starter Tier - £25/year)

Lite version of the Summit membership. Applicable for first year only and allows access to club trips.  


Summit (Core Tier - £59/year)

The full club experience: priority access, discounts, milestone rewards, and more. Ideal for active members and is required for all trips.  


Full Membership (Premium Tier - £120/year)

Includes all Summit benefits, plus exclusive merch, and priority access to all events. 


Snowsports Club Membership (Paid – Variable Pricing)

For those looking to compete in events and gain access to additional benefits through Snowsport England membership. Includes registration with Snowsport England for those wishing to race, compete, or train officially. SSE policies apply.  Contact us to find out more and discuss your membership options. if you decide to purchase this membership an additional membership policy will be applied alongside this policy. 


Note: Snowsport England membership fees are separate, and variable based on membership type. Please contact us for current pricing and details. 



 🔄 5. Renewal & Termination

Renewal

Membership renews annually on 1st December. A reminder will be sent 30 days prior to expiry. If no instructions are given, the membership will automatically renew with the same tier as the previous year. Responsibility for payment falls on each member and is due prior to membership commencing. If membership has begun, the payment must be made as soon as possible to avoid any cancellation or downgrade. 


Cancellation

Members may cancel their membership at any time, but no refunds will be provided for early termination. To participate in some club activities a valid membership will need to remain in place until the event has finished. 


Suspension & Expulsion

The club reserves the right to suspend or expel members who violate the Membership Policy, Community Guidelines, or Terms of Use. No refunds will be provided under these circumstances.  


 

 🤝 6. Member Code of Conduct

MSC is committed to maintaining a respectful environment. Members must:

  • Members must always adhere to the Community Guidelines, ensuring respectful and courteous interaction with fellow members.
  • Members must comply with the Terms of Use when using the club’s online platforms and resources
  • Follow safety guidelines during ski trips and events.
  • Any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or termination of membership.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in membership suspension or termination. 


 

 ⚠️ 7. Liability & Skiing Disclaimer

Skiing and snowboarding are inherently risky activities that involve potential hazards, including but not limited to falls, collisions, equipment failure, avalanches, variable weather conditions, and terrain-related dangers. By joining the Muslim Ski Club (MSC) and participating in any club-organized activities, you acknowledge, accept, and agree to the following:


Assumption of Risk: Participation in MSC-organised skiing, snowboarding, and related activities is entirely voluntary, and members assume all risks associated with such activities, including those arising from their own actions, the actions of others, weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.


Release of Liability: MSC, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, partners, affiliates, sponsors, and associated third parties shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, losses, accidents, or fatalities that may occur during skiing activities, including but not limited to on-piste, off-piste, indoor and outdoor ski lessons, competitions, backcountry skiing, or any club-organized event, trip, or excursion both in the UK and globally. This includes incidents resulting from negligence (except where legally prohibited), environmental hazards, equipment malfunctions, or third-party actions.

Insurance Requirement: Members must obtain and maintain appropriate travel, health, and ski insurance that covers the relevant l skiing and snowboarding activities they may be taking part in, including off-piste skiing, emergency rescue, medical expenses, repatriation, and trip cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as injury or adverse weather conditions. MSC strongly advises all members to verify their insurance coverage before engaging in club activities.

Weather & External Disruptions: MSC is not responsible for weather conditions, ski resort closures, lift malfunctions, or external disruptions (e.g., travel delays, flight cancellations, or pandemic-related restrictions). No refunds, reimbursements, or rescheduling will be provided due to such circumstances unless expressly stated in the club’s policies.

Physical Fitness & Safety Responsibility: Members acknowledge that skiing and snowboarding are physically demanding sports that require a reasonable level of fitness, coordination, and awareness. Participants are responsible for assessing their own ability and must follow all safety guidelines, including:

- Wearing appropriate safety gear, including helmets and protective equipment

- Adhering to ski resort rules, instructor guidelines, and mountain safety protocols.

- Respecting the International Ski Federation (FIS) Code of Conduct and resort-specific regulations.

- Avoiding reckless behaviour, skiing under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or engaging in high-risk activities beyond their skill level.


Engagement with Third Parties: MSC may facilitate access or promote third-party providers, including but not limited to ski instructors, tour operators, equipment rental companies, accommodation providers, and travel agencies. However:

- MSC does not endorse, warrant, or assume responsibility for the quality, safety, or effectiveness of third-party products or services.

- Members engage with third-party providers at their own discretion and risk and must resolve any disputes directly with the respective provider.


Waiver of Claims: By participating in any MSC activity, members expressly waive, release, and discharge MSC, its affiliates, officers, volunteers, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, or legal actions arising out of or related to participation in club activities. This waiver applies to injuries, accidents, death, property damage, economic losses, or other risks, including those caused by negligence, except where prohibited by law.


Indemnification: Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless MSC, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any liability, claims, damages, legal fees, or expenses incurred due to their participation in club activities or their failure to adhere to safety protocols.


Acknowledgement of Agreement: By becoming a member and/or participating in any MSC event, trip, or skiing-related activity, members confirm that they have read, understood, and voluntarily accepted this liability and skiing disclaimer. They further acknowledge that they assume full responsibility for their own safety and any risks associated with skiing and snowboarding. 


 

 🔐 8. Privacy & Data Protection

MSC values your privacy. Your personal data will be processed in line with our Privacy Policy.

  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except where required for membership administration, lesson or trip bookings, and event management.
  • Members are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure.
  • Members may request access, updates, or deletion of their data by contacting admin@muslimskiclub.com.

 📚 9. Amendments to This Policy

The Muslim Ski Club reserves the right to amend this membership policy at any time. An updated version will be published on the club’s website and will be in force with immediate effect. Continued membership constitutes acceptance of any changes to this policy.
